An emerging major business conglomerate, the LKY Group of Companies has been helping build the country by introducing innovations and revolutionizing various industries. For over 30 years, it has been blazing new trails in retail marketing, commercial leasing, construction and property development, hotels and resorts, transport terminals, food operations, and housing.
A Filipino-owned firm, it is helping empower communities where it is present through sustainable social responsibility programs.
The LKY Group takes its inspiration from its founder and patriarch, Lee King Yek, an epitome of hard work and entrepreneurial spirit amidst challenging circumstances. Arriving in the Philippines from China as a 14-year old migrant , he did odd jobs to fend for himself and his mother.
Through hard work and perseverance, Lee embarked on a wholesale store named “Goodluck Trading”, a simple two-story store in Sorsogon which will become the beginning of a business empire. Due to its growth, LKY Property Holdings Inc. was established in 1994 as the corporate entity for the acquisition of land for future developments in Sorsogon.
Forging ahead to new horizons.
While most boys at fourteen were having the time of their lives playing and studying, Lee King Yek, with only his diploma clutched beneath his shirts, stowed away and found his way to the Philippines hoping to stumble on his dreams in a foreign land.
At the forefront of the economy are business tycoons continuously redefining brand value and delivering service at its finest. Determination is a pre-requisite but more than that, for Mr. Wilbert T. Lee – President and CEO of The Oriental Hotels
